As for as weddings go, they don’t get much more enjoyable than the Moore-Wheeler wedding. The fact that the wedding was held at Busch Stadium, the home of my favorite sports team, was just icing on the cake for me. Mary and Brandon made the perfect bride and groom. They are good-looking, easy going and in love. I really liked them from the first time that I met them. I don’t normally go to wedding rehearsals but I was invited and this was no ordinary wedding, so Dave, my second shooter, and I both attended. We enjoyed getting to meet the wedding party and their families.
On the day of the wedding we arrived early and got a few detail shots. We also got a few shots of the stadium. When the bride and groom arrived we split up and got a few casual shots as we waited for the ceremony to begin. The ceremony was perfect. Mary made a stunning bride and her nephews were adorable in their little Cardinal uniforms. The ceremony went off without a hitch thanks to the splendid work of Abby, the Busch Stadium wedding coordinator. She did a great job all day of making sure everything ran smoothly. Dave Adams did a great job as usual assisting me. We had a few restrictions on us like not being allowed on the grass etc, but we worked around it and got some great shots. I would have loved an extra 30 minutes to take more photographs but the time restrictions were understandable when you realize that there were two more weddings to be held there that day.
The reception was classy and beautifully decorated. Everyone enjoyed the band and Mary and Brandon showed off their excellent dancing skills. As a journalistic wedding photographer I try to capture the moments when you can see the love in the bride and groom’s eyes and there were plenty of opportunities for that.
Congratulations Mary and Brandon. I wish you both a lifetime of happiness. Thank you for allowing me to capture your wedding day. Although our Cardinals faltered in the playoffs this year, everyone would agree that Brandon and Mary's wedding was a homerun.
